Ways to Donate

There are many ways that you can donate to NSEA, please look at the different methods below.  For further information or to discuss other ideas for supporting NSEA, call us at 360-715-0283 or email us at info@n-sea.org.
  • Give online.
  • Send us a check at our office at 2445 E. Bakerview Rd., Bellingham, WA 98226, or better yet, stop by in person.  We would be delighted to meet you and show you our office.
  • Become a Member.
  • Give an annual gift.  Every fall, NSEA makes an annual appeal to our community members.  Consider setting aside a portion of your holiday budget to support sustainable wild salmon in Whatcom County.
  • Contribute to the NSEA endowment.  The endowment is a way to invest in NSEA for the long haul.  This fund will assure that NSEA can weather periods of funding cutbacks and continue operations for years to come.
  • Sponsor a NSEA event.  Every year NSEA hosts an Annual Community Celebration in winter and Salmon at the Bay in the summer.  Consider sponsoring one or both of these events.
  • Sponsor one or more educational programs.  NSEA is involved at all levels of education. Current sponsorship opportunities include our Students for Salmon program (grades 3-6), Middle School Service Learning (grades 6-8), Streamside Science (grades 9-10), Swimming Upstream (grades 9-12), and college internships.
  • Set up a matching fund program for your employees.  If you are an employer, consider setting up a matching fund for your employees. If you are an employee, ask your employer about matching your donation to NSEA.  Several companies already offer to match the donations their employees make to NSEA.
  • Planned giving. With a planned gift to NSEA, you can combine your desire to do what's best for the future of salmon in Whatcom County with your overall financial, tax, and estate planning goals. This can be as simple as naming NSEA as a beneficiary in your will or involve a more complex trust arrangement to fit your specific present and future needs.
  • Donate shares of appreciated stocks or mutual funds.  Donating appreciated stocks, bonds, or mutual funds allows you to avoid paying capital gains tax on the appreciation and receive a tax deduction on the full value of the gift.
  • Donate your labor or services.  NSEA is always in need of engineering work, equipment, and services to implement our salmon recovery work.
  • Donate your time.  NSEA would be glad to have you become a volunteer.  We view our volunteers as a vital component of our success and offer many ways  to get involved.
