Middle School Service Learning (MSSL)

The Middle School Service Learning program is focused on providing Whatcom County 6th through 8th grade students with a community stewardship project. NSEA works with middle school students each winter and spring to provide education and restoration projects along salmon-bearing streams.

This program, like all of NSEA's education offerings, is offered at no-cost to participating schools. 

Active Learning

Students dive in and get their hands dirty while applying salmon ecology knowledge learned in the classroom. Ultimately, students learn what makes good habitat for salmon and how people play a critical role in protecting salmon.

How it works

NSEA coordinates the restoration project and provides the students with the necessary knowledge, tools, and materials to complete the project. Please contact Annitra Peck for additional information and to get started!
