Starting in 2026, taxpayers who take the standard deduction can claim an above-the-line deduction for cash donations: up to $1,000 for single filers or $2,000 for married couples filing jointly.

Here’s how it works:

  • Only cash contributions qualify (including checks, credit cards, online gifts, and payroll deductions).

  • Donations must be made to a qualified 501(c)(3) public charity.

  • Standard IRS rules apply, including a written acknowledgment for gifts of $250 or more.

*NSEA provides a tax receipt for every donation, no matter the amount.

Become a monthly donor

Why make monthly gifts?

It's sustained support. Recurring gifts help us plan for the future and increases the scale of the work it takes to help recover salmon.

Peer to peer fundraiser

Peer-to-peer fundraising is when individuals organize personal campaigns to collect donations from their peers. These fundraisers can include asking for donations via crowdfunding, throwing occasion-specific fundraisers (like birthdays fundraisers), and participating in events like team fun runs. Send Amy your idea and we will help you make it a reality. ajohnson@n-sea.org
